Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Outside of the Box Therapy was founded by a practitioner who understands the value of a supportive work environment for providers and we work to provide a collaborative, creative and supporting environment for everyone. Located in Gaffney, South Caroling we were established to provide “good service” to the community, we believe that client accessibility, integrity, quality care and looking at the whole person are important. We strive to encourage our clinicians to do what they were trained to do and we operate on the premise that many backgrounds working together to provide great service to the community. Although we do serve the whole community, we do not serve substance use disorders and chronic and persistent mental illness, often referring those clients to the state mental health system that has more resources available. We serve ‘womb-to-tomb’ and would love to find a provider who can join the clinical team, focusing on what they went to school for.
Outside of the Box Therapy wants to develop our PMHNPs through ongoing education and supervision, a very manageable patient load and administrative support. As this is a new addition to our practice, the ideal candidate will be willing to assist us with growth providing input in their area of expertise.
Responsibilities
- Complete initial new patient evaluations and assist in the development of treatment plans
- Complete Psychiatric assessments and evaluations of clients
- Review medical history and related documents; order laboratory tests and evaluate results.
- Maintain interdisciplinary treatment by consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists and other health care providers.
- Review and approve individualized service plans and assessments The ability to interact compassionately and independently with a diverse population. Prescribe medication in an effort to reduce mental health symptoms, as needed

- Very comfortable seeing ADHD patients, prescribing controlled substances when appropriate.
- Maintain electronic medical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events. Electronically prescribe medications
- Update job knowledge by participating in continuing medical educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Data tracking: Assignment of appropriate assessment scales, and review with patient during appointments
- Communicate directly with patients regarding urgent needs (i.e. medication side effects, acute symptoms)

Qualifications
- Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Board Certification preferred
- Masters in Nursing with active prescriptive authority required
- Experience working in private practice or a demonstrated competence in working in a team format
- Experience working with children and adults, certification in those areas preferred
Compensation and Benefits
- $90-100/ per clinical hour
- Flexibility to develop your schedule (10-40 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling the days)

Mental Health Therapist Job Posting
Outside of the Box Therapy located in Gaffney, SC is looking to add 1-2 part and/or full-time mental health therapists (LPC, LPC-A, LMFT-A, LMFT, LMSW) to our team.
If you ever wanted the flexibility of private practice with the benefits of a regular job, then we may be a fit for you!! We are a group of therapists who have banded together to do one thing-provide good service. We have clinic and school based positions and are actively seeking therapists who like to work with children, couples and/or families!!! Each therapist is supported in their areas of interest and the team works collaboratively to better serve our clients and community. We will work with you to screen new clients and place those who fit your niche with you, assist with scheduling, do your billing, and provide you with an approved system for records management. As an approved Medicaid provider, we also will provide you with regular auditing to reduce the likelihood of paybacks. If eligible, we will also assist with credentialing under our business umbrella. We are especially seeking those willing to work with children, families and couples.
Although you will have flexibility to establish your schedule, minimum standards of performance are expected. Although we try to only give you clients within your preferred age ranges, we would like to see a willingness to work with all ages and availability in the afternoons, especially during the school year, still with flexibility to create your own schedule. Supervision offered and quarterly business meetings are required. Salary and standards discussed at interview. ** Specialized supervision is available in play therapy, EMDR and others.

What are we looking for?
- 1-2 part and/or full time mental health therapists (LPC, LPC-S, LMFT, LCSW) to add to our team
- Strong preference to those who would like to work with children and/or are bilingual
- Independent and self-motivated (we will help you grow your practice as much as we can but you also want to network and get out there as well!)
- Flexibility, as all positions require at least two nights a week and/or weekends
- Someone who is autonomous but willing to engage in case consultation
- Must have completed an approved counseling program and be registered, at a minimum, as an approved Associate.
- Must have a South Carolina license
- Experience working in rural communities and with diverse populations
- Must be able to complete paperwork within designated timelines
- Must be professional, be able to emotionally regulate at work and work well within a team
- Although we would LOVE to pay everyone an amazingly high salary (since we are all worth it!!), we recognize that we are bound by the work ethic of our providers. In other words, we can’t pay you more then you bring in!!
