Outside of the Box Therapy was founded by a practitioner who understands the value of a supportive work environment for providers and we work to provide a collaborative, creative and supporting environment for everyone. Located in Gaffney, South Caroling we were established to provide “good service” to the community, we believe that client accessibility, integrity, quality care and looking at the whole person are important. We strive to encourage our clinicians to do what they were trained to do and we operate on the premise that many backgrounds working together to provide great service to the community.  Although we do serve the whole community, we do not serve substance use disorders and chronic and persistent mental illness, often referring those clients to the state mental health system that has more resources available.  We serve ‘womb-to-tomb’ and would love to find a provider who can join the clinical team, focusing on what they went to school for.

Outside of the Box Therapy wants to develop our PMHNPs through ongoing education and supervision, a very manageable patient load and administrative support.  As this is a new addition to our practice, the ideal candidate will be willing to assist us with growth providing input in their area of expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial new patient evaluations and assist in the development of treatment plans
  • Complete Psychiatric assessments and evaluations of clients
  • Review medical history and related documents; order laboratory tests and evaluate results.
  • Maintain interdisciplinary treatment by consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists and other health care providers.
  • Review and approve individualized service plans and assessments The ability to interact compassionately and independently with a diverse population. Prescribe medication in an effort to reduce mental health symptoms, as needed

  • Very comfortable seeing ADHD patients, prescribing controlled substances when appropriate.
  • Maintain electronic medical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events.  Electronically prescribe medications
  • Update job knowledge by participating in continuing medical educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Data tracking: Assignment of appropriate assessment scales, and review with patient during appointments
  • Communicate directly with patients regarding urgent needs (i.e. medication side effects, acute symptoms)

Qualifications

  • Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Board Certification preferred
  • Masters in Nursing with active prescriptive authority required
  • Experience working in private practice or a demonstrated competence in working in a team format
  • Experience working with children and adults, certification in those areas preferred

Compensation and Benefits

  • $90-100/ per clinical hour
  • Flexibility to develop your schedule (10-40 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling the days)
